INTERCLUB
The first Inter-club competition of 1999 begins around the end of March. The club committee is determined to put  particular emphasis on the Inter-club teams this season in order to build on the success of last  year.

The teams will be managed by committee members, Peter Walsh and Brian Roe who will be assisted by Tim Vaughan. There are plans in place to have our resident professional  Peter O'Hagan supervise squad  training  sessions.
The various Inter-club competitions cover all handicap categories and are mainly played on a foursome and fourball format, although there are some single match-play competitions. Information sheets will shortly be posted in the clubhouse and locker rooms for the forthcoming Inter-club competitions and members whose handicap qualifies them for the respective competitions are encouraged to put their names and telephone numbers on these sheets.
Everyone who puts their name forward will be
contacted by the team managers and will be invited to attend squad training with a view to forming team panels.

The Committee would like to stress the importance of the "team" aspect of the competitions. Therefore each member of the panel if not selected to play  on the day is expected to attend and be available as a substitute or caddy for other team members.
Members interested in taking part in Inter-club competitions should pay special attention to the foursomes competition taking place at Highfield on 20th & 21st of March  as the top 16 pairings from this competition will go forward for a foursomes match-play competition, success in club match-play competitions will greatly enhance your chances of selection on Inter-club teams.
